Dortmunder? I Hardly Know Her!
Dortmunder-Style Lager collaboration brewed with the Wish You Were Beer Show
Dortmunder Lagers were born around 1868 in Dortmund, Germany and became the favorite of Coal Miners and Industrial Workers. After all, what could be better than a cold, full-bodied beer after a long shift underground?
With an ABV of at least 5.0%, they were crushable (before that was a thing), but strong enough to provide a much-needed kick. The sulfate levels in the water of the region helped create a beer with a light, crisp, balanced, and bready finish.
Dortmunder? Now you know her!
