Thank you for joining us for Virginia Beer Co.’s 7-Year Freeversary on Saturday, April 1st! We’re excited to share some anniversary beers & cheers with you on 4/1 from 12-7 pm.
All you need to know about satellite parking and shuttle services, entry and beer tickets, festival layout, and more is below. Gates open at Noon and music starts at 12:30 pm!

Weather:
- 4/1/2023: The FREEVERSARY is ON!
- Please plan to dress for the weather!
- We will have the entire taproom & brewery spaces open for all to enjoy, but food trucks and games and music will be outdoors.
Entry:
- If you’ve purchased your tickets online prior to 4/1/2023, you have purchased entry to Saturday’s festival! In an effort to save our trees, there is no need to print anything out.
- We have a record of everyone who has pre-paid for tickets. When you arrive, plan to flash your email receipt and a photo ID. Any guest who plans to drink will need to present an ID!
- You can check in at the front of the property when you arrive, where we will be verifying ticket purchases and providing wristbands & glassware.

- If you do not purchase tickets before 4/1, you can still purchase tickets at the gate! Purchasing tickets ahead of time will save you time and guarantee an anniversary glass for you too.

- Full-Time Friends get FREE entry to the Freeversary! Simply mention that you’re a member of our 2023 Social Club when you arrive to get your wristsband and UPSIZED anniversary glass.
Day-Of & ID’s:
- We will be selling additional entry tickets at the door! If you have friends/family who do not have tickets, they may purchase entry upon arrival at the front gate.
- $10: Standard (21+) ticket for entry and access to music, games, giveaways, and a limited edition anniversary glass to take home!
- Anyone who is 21+ will need a ticket for entry on 4/1, which gets you a wristband and glass to unlock beer ticket sales and pours!
- Under 21 is free!

- Please Note: For everyone who is receiving a Standard (21+) ticket, we will need to see an ID for each ticket to verify everyone receiving a glass is at least 21 years of age.
- Please make sure everyone who plans to purchase tickets brings a valid photo ID, and that everyone in your group who will be receiving a 21+ ticket brings their own valid photo ID to verify an age of 21+.
Parking:
- On 4/1, the entire brewery property (parking lot included) will be roped off for maximum beers & cheers!
- Feel free to drop any passengers and guests with mobility issues at the front of the brewery or next door at Speedway.
- For those driving, we will then have nearby spillover parking options arranged (see below).
- All Day Parking (w/ SHUTTLE): A spillover lot can be found at 111 State Rte 641 (the field behind Colonial Pancake House).
- The shuttle will be periodically running from this lot starting around 1 pm.
- …it’s also an easy walk with sidewalks (less than 1/2 a mile)!

- All Day Parking (w/ SHUTTLE): Parking is available at the REAR of the Super 8 by Wyndham Williamsburg/Historic Area (304 Second Street), just a couple blocks from the brewery.
- A free courtesy shuttle will be running from a pick-up point (denoted by signs) near the front of the Super 8. The shuttle will run from just before Noon until just after 7 pm.
- The shuttle will drop off near the front of the brewery, and will pick up returning guests from the same area as well.
- Just look for the Parking/Shuttle Signs leading to the pick-up location, and hop on when the courtesy shuttle returns from dropping fellow guests at the brewery every few minutes!
- The Super 8 is also an easy walk to the brewery if you do not want to wait for the shuttle!

Additional Parking:
- Visit our Spillover Parking link to learn more about other spillover parking options — including after 1 pm at FISH, Inc. (312 Second Street).
- Please note that if you park in other neighboring business lots without the approval of those businesses (especially while those businesses are open), you may be towed!
- In particular, if you park at the Speedway property, in the lot by Cochon on 2nd, at McDonald’s, or across the street at Hardee’s…you will likely be towed.

Walking:
- Fingers crossed for a beautiful day on Saturday, and we are an easy walk from Colonial Williamsburg (directions here) if you feel like taking the scenic route!
Public Transportation:
- Local cab companies and ride sharing services such as Uber & Lyft are familiar with our property (401 Second Street)!
- The easiest drop-off point is the Speedway (395 Second Street) located next to the brewery.
- WATA has a bus stop on the Orange Line near the brewery that runs from 6 am – 9 pm on Saturday. Stop 1101 (Merrimac Trail at 2nd Street) is an easy walk to the brewery!
Pours & Beer Tickets:
- There will be two stations (one near entry and one in the taproom) for purchasing beer tickets.
- Each beer ticket can be exchanged for one on-premise pour (higher ABV beers will be offered in shorter pours) at pouring stations in the taproom and at the rear of the builing.
- Please note that Beer tickets are only for on-premise consumption. To-go sales can be made with cash or credit!
- Beer tickets are not valid for use or resale after Saturday’s anniversary party. No refunds are permitted for unused beer tickets.
- All beers will be served in your limited edition Freeversary glass, so take care of your glass once you arrive!
- In order to make sure that only those who are 21+ are able to purchase beers, 21+ ticketholders will receive a wristband – please don’t remove your wristband!
- If anyone who is not wearing a 21+ wristband is found with a beer we will have to ask them to leave, per VA ABC law.

Beer To-Go:
- We will be selling beer to-go, including all four Waypost vintages and all three anniversary releases. We will not be able to offer Growler/Crowler fills during the event.
- Please note that beer purchased to-go cannot be consumed on the property. You are welcome to take to-go beer back to your car at any time (re-entry is permitted), or we can hold your order until it is time for you to depart.
- To-go beers may not be carried around the property during event hours.

Re-Entry:
- Once you have checked in at the gate, you will be given a wristband designating your ticket purchase (ie, Standard or Under 21).
- Please do not remove your wristband!
- Staff will be monitoring the crowd to ensure that only those who with 21+ wristbands are sampling beers.
- Again, 21+ ticket holders will be given wristbands designating their age. If anyone who is not wearing a 21+ wristband is found with a beer, we will have to ask them to leave, per VA ABC law.
- Equally important: wristbands guarantee re-entry!
- If you need to leave for any reason (such as taking to-go beer to your car), showing your wristband at the gate will permit re-entry from open until close.
Folding Chairs:
- We will be placing tables and chairs throughout the property. If you would like to bring folding chairs, please feel free to do so!
- We ask that you limit these items just to chairs – no tables or oversized umbrellas (which may obstruct the view of other guests or access to the various stations set up around the property) will be permitted.
Outside Food/Drink:
- We kindly ask that you do not bring any outside food or drink with you on Saturday.
- We will have three food trucks and an energy drink pop-up serving from open to close (12-7 pm), and we’ll have a bevy of beer and non-alcoholic beverage options available for purchase!
- Free water stations will also be available.
- No coolers will be permitted into the festival. If you plan to purchase bottles or cans, please do so when departing or feel free to take to-go package back to your car. Your wristband guarantees you re-entry!
- Per VA ABC law we are not permitted to allow additional alcoholic beverages on the property, so we ask that any refillable water containers be empty upon arrival.
Pets:
- While leashed, people-friendly pups can join…we don’t encourage their attendance at this particular event due to all the activities taking place.
- If you decide to bring a furry friend, please plan to keep them leashed the entire time.
- Due to the increased crowd capacity, we ask that you please plan to keep pets outdoors on Saturday (as the taproom may get crowded as a primary location for ordering beer).
Smoking:
- We have a designated smoking area set up at the rear of the property and kindly ask that any smoking/vaping of any kind take place only in that area.
