This was a big week we’d been working towards for quite some time. We had our final walkthrough of the building at 7120 GW Memorial Highway on Monday. This means that minus a few odds & ends, interior buildout is close to done. That means we can start unpacking furniture, complete the bar set-up, and get building signage up!
What’s left:
~ Brewhouse commissioning (so our Brewmaster can fire things up and start brewing beer). This is scheduled to start next week!
~ Exterior site work (to build the beer garden). We’ve been undergoing a thorough environmental survey to analyze the state of the property, which had been dormant for some time. An updated site plan was sent to York County this week for approval. Then we get to work on planting local greenery and installing a retaining wall, fencing, a deck, fire pits, lighting, and other outdoor amenities.
~ Kitchen completion (speaking of firing things up). We plan to start testing out planned dishes for the pub menu in the coming weeks. Once we see everything in the kitchen in action, we’ll share the final menu concept!
⏩ Getting all the brewery & kitchen equipment ready for commissioning ~and~ executing the final exterior site plan have been the biggest final hurdles…and we finally see a light at the end of those tunnels. Once you see the fine folks from TSP Lawns & Landscaping, Inc. break ground out back, the final countdown will be on!
⏭️ We expect (and are eager) to announce a target opening date once the site work is rolling and beer is in the tanks. With the site plan submitted ~and~ commissioning scheduled, we are getting very close. Close enough that we plan to start providing weekly updates going forward (so we can share more information about brewing, hiring, branding, menus, and the grand opening)!
The long wait is about to be a short one…and we are so ready for 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧 brewpub to be open.
