Happy Weekend! We want to take a moment to thank everyone who’s come by to check out The Kitchen in the two short months we’ve been open. And we want to take a moment to share some answers to FAQ’s now that we’ve had a couple months to field Q&A’s from our guests!
🍻 Brewery vs. Brewpub: Part of our excitement in bringing a second location to York County, Virginia was to add a new experience for everyone. A brewpub features an in-house kitchen as well as a brewery, whereas our Williamsburg location features only a brewery. Due to the inclusion of a kitchen, we do have different operations at both locations and we are beholden to different regulations.
🍻 Beer Garden: To-date, we’ve only had half the property open. After many permitting delays, the beer garden buildout is finally well underway. We anticipate the entire outdoor experience being open later this month! While the inside space offers a more traditional brewpub experience (with bar & table service), the outside space is intended to offer more of a brewery vibe.
…in the meantime if you just want to grab a drink and skip bar or table service, guests are welcome to order a round at the inside bar and enjoy it outside on the existing covered patio. Once construction is complete and we’re cleared for outdoor service, we’ll have additional food & drink ordering options outside!
🍻 Food: Every one of our recipes is designed and prepared in-house. We use fresh, all natural ingredients and cook dishes to order. We’ll continue to adapt the new menu with guest feedback, and by adding weekly & seasonal specials too.
…and when the beer garden is officially open, we’ll launch a spring refresh to add some beer garden inspired munchies (like wings, and pretzels with VBC beer cheese)!
🍻 Flights & Samples: Once our entire property is open for business, we’ll add additional offerings like flights. We can always add but we never want to take away. One step at a time while we measure wait times (and how much beer we’re going through) so we can add more experiences!
…the brewpub allows us to offer a broader bar menu (that’s a big difference between brewery & brewpub operations). Due to the fact that we are now both a manufacturer and retailer of alcoholic beverages in Yorktown, ABC has advised that we not offer samples at this time.
🍻 Pets: At this time we are not legally permitted to host pets at the brewpub. The inclusion of a kitchen is the reason. We are following Virginia Department of Health guidance here, and we cannot receive a final answer about the outside space until the beer garden construction is complete. As there is no kitchen in Williamsburg, leashed & people-friendly pets remain welcome at the OG brewery!
🍻 Entertainment: Once we know when the beer garden will be officially open for business, we’ll begin to schedule live entertainment. If you hang with us in Williamsburg, you know we host live entertainment no less than 4 days a week…so we are excited to support the local music scene in Yorktown too!
