If you’ve driven by the future brewpub location at 7120 GW Memorial Highway in Yorktown, you’ve likely seen a flurry of activity over the past many weeks. 
Time spent planning during the ongoing transition (coupled with warm weather) has finally allowed us to open up the entire property and start moving forward with a myriad of buildout priorities. Paving and striping the parking lot. Utility work. Landscaping and leveling the outdoor space. Not to mention a ton of permitting.
What are the next steps, you ask? Glad you did! We’re currently working on inspections to get our brewery production and kitchen prep areas ready for commissioning. Then we can get the equipment hooked & fired up to start brewing, and sorting our future pub and bar menus! Inside, the floors and walls need to be treated. We’re building out multiple bar spaces inside (and out!), and corresponding draft systems. And there’s a lot of projects in motion to turn the outside space into a dynamic hosting area for all to enjoy.
While the punch list is shortening, we’re not quite ready to announce an opening date just yet. We’re shooting for this summer, and as soon as we can start brewing we’ll have a better idea of when. But we’re happy to report that the timeline is narrowing. As soon as a realistic first brew date is in sight, we will be excited to share it with you!
To get this all accomplished, we’re also excited to be working with Shapespace [https://www.weareshapespace.com/]. The Shapespace team is helping us combine GC and interior/exterior design elements to bring the 7120 space to life. In an upcoming post, we’ll dive deeper into our shared vision for the space! Just like you, we want this to be worth the wait – and together we’re working hard to make sure it will be.
We appreciate all of the excitement and ideas we’re receiving from everyone! We’ll plan to share space mockups in the near future – as well as continuing construction updates – and provide more info about menus, marketing, entertainment, & hiring too. We’re coming, Yorktown…and we can’t wait!
